| i was going to put my camp address up here, but then i got all paranoid that some weirdo would come onto my site and send me mail at camp, or come find me and kill me. or something. so i decided not to. i am leaving for camp in 3 days. i will be there for a month. i am either going to have an extremely good time or an awful time. i guess we'll see. i would say i'll miss you all, but i don't really know who "you all" are, and probably most of you i haven't even talked to since school ended, therefore, i will not miss you. the end! catch ya august 8th! | | |
| so i found out how to do something cool today. ali gave me this mp3/cd player awhile ago, which i thought was awesome. i have enough regular cds but i didn't have any mp3 cds yet. being the procrastinator that i am, i just left the cd player sitting on the floor of my room for awhile. but today i was pretty bored, so i finally installed the software stuff and burned my first mp3 cd. (aren't you proud??) it actually took me a pretty long time, because there were so many files i had to search through, and i had to convert some of them. and since my dad was using windex to clean the windows in the computer room, i was feeling dizzy towards the end. but now i am listening to the finished result: 83 motown and oldies songs on one cd. it's like my kazaa playlist, only portable. now instead of bringing a bunch of normal cds places, i can bring this one. it's amazing. i highly recommend it. thanks ali! :) i hope you don't want it back now... | | |
| Which Homestar Character are you??http://www.geocities.com/jurjyfrort/homestarquiz.html ~take the quiz and put ur results in a comment, i'm interested!
I'm Homestar Runner: "Everyone loves you. Well, almost everyone. Your cheerful and carefree personality makes you the heart and soul of your group of friends. You might not be the sharpest tool in the box, but don't worry, your attention span won't let you dwell too long on any problems. You are a fit and trained athlete, but watch out for over-indulgences in your diet. You have a bit of an addictive personality.
"You'll get along well with a Pom-Pom, or a Coach Z, but beware the Strong Bad. A Marzipan may be a mixed blessing."
That's fun isn't it? Well, i'm supposed to be sorting through my school papers right now, but who wants to do that? well, my mom wants me to, obviously. but instead, i sit at the computer, looking up homestar stuff everywhere. last night i made all my icons homestar characters, and put sounds into the system so everytime i delete something it goes, "BALEETED!" or everytime i get of windows it says "it's about time. why don't you go outside or something ... NERD". it's quite fun. this morning i walked around my house collecting paint chips. that was also quite fun. i don't want the birds to eat them and get lead poisoning and die, but i think my parents just thought they looked ugly. we got our door painted, and my mom was freaking out about the color. "it's not rust is it? because i didn't want rust" "no mom, it's fine, it's like a dark browny-red." "maybe it should be this color" (pulls out an encyclopedia). "mom. it looks fine" "it's not exactly wine either right? it's not dark enough" "no, mom, it's in between rust and wine." well, as my dad said, at least she didn't hate it.
whitney and i have spent 2 whole days together, out of the last 3. some highlights are ... spray on suntan lotion (and despite this i still got completely burnt. burned? whatever), watching pretty boys at the pool, watching blazing saddles (and hearing whit's grandma quote it), and finding how many words can rhyme with "smash". yesterday, we were watching Thouroughly (i cannot spell that word) Modern Millie, a 2 and a half hour long movie (which is bad for us because our attention spans last maybe an hour). it was actually really weird... sort of monty-python-esque, only... without the british accents. and with more girls. you know, it sort of starts out semi-normal, but as it progresses you're like, ok what is going on. why am i talking about this movie, you might wonder? well i wanted to put this line from the movie in here. and that was a nice lead in.
"i've never read tom sawyer. is he... sexy?"
"he's twelve years old!"
well, maybe it doesn't look that funny there. but picture it as employee-to-boss convo, with the employee being julie andrews who is trying to get her boss (who was very cute, i might add) to fall in love with her. then maybe it's a bit funnier. maybe. well i better end it here. if my entries get too long, whit gets intimidated and won't read them

| did i mention... from justin to kelly has HOVERCRAFTS??? also one of the better points! (for full review see below)

i love a man who can drive a hovercraft... ::swoon::
| ali has been bugging me for quite awhile to write this... so here it is
"From Justin to Kelly" - possibly the worst movie i have ever seen.
of course i didn't expect much from it... the paper did give it like one star. and probably only because you have to give movies at least one star. ali and i could tell from the start it would be horrible when we found ourselves sitting alone in the theater. (actually we were probably the only ones in the entire theater--it was like monday at five, and a gorgeous day too. i felt bad for the people working there.) the opening credits were pretty impressive... but they were seriously the high point of the movie. ali and i gasped in awe as a person was walking down the beach the name of a cast member appeared in place of footsteps, as two jetskis raced through the water with names in their wake. but then the movie started, and it all went downhill from there. ok isn't kelly supposed to be from the south? so i wonder why her southern accent seemed so fake... and the B-list actors they got to play her friends were terrible also, especially this one really bitchy girl who did everything possible to split justin and kelly up... only to give a really sappy, cry-y, mascara-running speech to kelly about how she always wanted to be like her. of course, she made it up by "barely catching" justin as he left for his plane... but i'm getting ahead of myself. let's get into... the musical numbers! the first one was great, all the college students just arriving in Miami for spring break head to the beach and what's the first thing they do? Break out into choreographed song and dance, of course! i mean, that's what I always do when i go to the beach. even better was when they started to dance with towels and beach balls... what handy props. this in when justin and kelly get their first glimpse of each other, and of course, instantly fall in "love". they meet again in the girls bathroom, what a complete coincidence! what, might you ask, was justin doing in the girls bathroom? apparently it was "escaping girls who were chasing him", but i have my thoughts on the matter. the two apparently had an "instant connection," although it sounded way too scripted to even seem normal, much less like the said chemistry justin was raving on about. kelly gives justin her number, but he drops it in a puddle...oops! now isn't that a plot twist?? it makes you wonder what would've happened if the number stayed readable. this is where the bitchy girl comes in. she gives justin her own number instead of kelly's, that pathetic slut. and from then on everything possible goes wrong between the two... they keep barely missing each other, etc etc. throw in a couple of more horribly-led-into musical numbers (complete with horrible lip synching and voices which are so obviously not the actors'), a couple more falling in love plot lines, and of course, a lot of people running around the beach scantily clad, and you've got the rest of the movie. a whole spring break worked into an hour and a half, i must say it had me rather confused. guess what happens in the end?? justin and kelly are happily together, strolling around hand in hand. oh and occaisionally grinding together during "that's the way we like it" (and this is rated PG, a family movie??)... who would've thought? ali and i were laughing constantly at the movie... my advice is don't waste your money, unless you're in a really bad mood and need a lift of spirits.

ooh justin, aren't u the man's man??
